As Janmashtami gets closer, it's time to start preparing for Laddu Gopal Ki Chhathi too.
You may be choosing a new dress for Laddu Gopal, decorating your mandir, or planning the bhog for the Laddu global chhathi. Knowing the Chhathi date helps you get everything ready on time.
Kanha Ji Ki Chhathi Kab Hai in 2026?
Laddu Gopal Ki Chhathi is celebrated six days after Janmashtami every year.
Since Krishna Janmashtami falls on 4 September 2026, Kanha Ji Ki Chhathi will be celebrated on 9 September 2026.
Since Chhathi is observed according to the Hindu Panchang, the date may vary slightly in some regions. Before you make your preparations, it's always a good idea to check your local Panchang or consult your family pandit once.
Why Is Shri Krishna’s Chhathi Celebrated?
In many Hindu families, Chhathi is celebrated on the sixth day after a baby's birth. Krishna devotees follow the same tradition for their Laddu Gopal.
On this day, you celebrate Kanha Ji's arrival into your home with love and devotion. You welcome him like your own newborn child.
Many devotees dress him in a beautiful poshak, offer his favourite bhog, decorate their mandir, sing bhajans and perform aarti together.
It’s a celebration of your love, gratitude, and bhakti for Kanha Ji. And a beautiful time to deepen your bond with him through seva and devotion.
How to Celebrate Laddu Gopal Ki Chhathi at Home
Start your day early, if possible during Brahma Muhurta. Take a bath, wear clean clothes, and begin Laddu Gopal's seva with a peaceful mind.

You can celebrate by following these steps:
-
Give Laddu Gopal a holy bath (panchamrit snan). Use milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar. Then bathe him with Ganga jal. Pat him dry with a soft mulmul cloth.
-
Now do his shringar. Dress him in a new poshak. Place a small mukut on his head. Tie a fresh mala around his neck. Slip a tiny bansuri into his hand.
Add a small kajal tikka behind his ear to keep nazar away.
-
Decorate his jhula or mandir. Place your Bal Gopal lovingly in the jhula and sing sweet bhajans for him.
-
Offer Kanha ji bhog. Panjiri, makhan mishri, kheer, and seasonal fruits all work well.
-
Light a diya and perform Krishna aarti.
-
Chant Krishna bhajans or his holy name. (Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna. Krishna Krishna Hare Hare)
-
Share bhog prasad with your family and friends. Make sure you’re adding Tulsi leaves to your Bhog. Without Tulsi leaves the bhog is considered incomplete.
Laddu Gopal Ki Chhathi Is a Celebration of Love
Kanha Ji Ki Chhathi is more than just a festival. It is a day to celebrate Lord Krishna in his Bal Gopal form with seva, bhog, prayers, and devotion.
Whether you celebrate with a simple aarti at home or prepare a grand celebration, what truly matters is your love and faith. Every small act of seva offered with a pure heart brings you closer to Kanha Ji.
Jai Shri Krishna!
